James took over as project lead for ISO TS 15638-4 in early 2019, resolved all outstanding comments on the draft, and published the document ahead of the deadline.

James served as the editor of the ITU-T Focus Group on Vehicular Multimedia (FG-VM) in 2018–2019. This was the first publication from the group. It was subsequently published as recommendation ITU-T F.749.3 (08/20) and as an e-book.

Pre-print co-authored with Dr. Shouxing (Simon) Qu. We developed a mathematical model for 60 GHz channels that had previously been characterized only through experimental measurements during the development of 802.11ad. We also contributed this work to IEEE 802 for use in evaluating subsequent 60 GHz standards 802.11ay and 802.11bq.
